Premier League Matchday 1 of 38
Manchester Utd v Leicester City
Fri 10th August 21:00

The last time they met was back on 23rd December 2017 when it ended in a 2 – 2 draw with 2 Utd goals coming from Juan Mata, Harry Maguire getting the first for Leicester and Jamie Vardy snatching a 90th minute equaliser.

Last 5: Manchester United have been anything but impressive in their pre-season form with some lackluster results recording a loss, 3 draws and just one win from their last 5. Leicester have won 2, drawn 2 and lost 1 in their last 5 pre-season friendlies.

Team News: Leicester lost their class act Riyad Mahrez in a reported £50 million move to Manchester City over the summer but snapped up young 21 year old attacking midfielder James Maddison for £25 million from Norwich. Young Maddison is a top player and could be a great prospect for them. They’ve also brought in right winger Rachid Ghezzal from Monaco for £14 million, the 26 year old picked up 2 goals and 4 assists in 26 appearances in La Ligue last season and will be looking to make his mark on the Premier League.

Sanchez is a big player and will need to turn up on the day and perform. United were unable to prise Maguire from The Foxes, their loan option for Boetang didn’t materialise either with rumours that an approach from Godin’s also fell through after he penned a new deal with Atletico Madrid. Ashley Young, Marouane Fellaini, Jesse Lingard, Romelu Lukaku and Paul Pogba are all unlikely to feature following their late return from the World Cup. Anthony Martial’s future appears to be uncertain after missing the last pre-season friendly against Bayern Munich.

Leicester City may have the same issue with Jamie Vary and Harry Maguire not starting.
