The Manchester derby has been played 173 previous times, as you would expect it is United who dominate between the two having won 72 times. The have drawn 51times and City have won 50 times.

These two have met twice this season already, back in September in the reverse fixture of this City managed to grab a good away win 2-1 at Old Trafford. More recently they met again at Old Trafford in the League Cup in October, this time it was a 1-0 win to United thanks to a Juan Mata goal.

City have been in pretty poor form of late winning 2, drawing 2 and losing 2 of their last 6 matches in all competitions. Last time out they were knocked out of the semi finals of the FA Cup by Arsenal after extra time 2-1.

United have been in much better form of late. They have won 4 and drawn 2 of their last 6 in all competitions. They are currently on a 3 game win streak including last time out when they managed a good 2-0 win away at Burnley.

City currently sit in 4th place in the league, they are 2 points behind 3rd place Liverpool but have 2 games in hand.

United currently sit in 5th place, 1 point behind City and 3 points behind Liverpool but they too have played 2 games less than the Reds.

David Silva is a big doubt for this after limping off on the weekend. Aguero who also picked up a knock should be alright and Gabriel Jesus has recovered but this game is probably too soon for him.

Zlatan, Chris Smalling and Phil Jones are all out for this for UTD, Paul Pogba is also a big doubt but Ander Herrera should be fit.

A win on Thursday would take Man City’s points tally ahead of what they managed to achieve in the whole of last season.

Man Utd have conceded just 5 goals in 2017 in the Premier League which is fewer than any other club.

The bookies have City as favourites and it is Bet Fred who are best priced @ 10/11. The draw can be backed @14/5 with a couple of firms including Bet365, Man Utd are best @ 7/2 with a couple including Bet365.

I fancy the draw here.
