West Brom V Arsenal

Saturday 17th March 2017
13:30 Kick off Live on Sky Sports

This will be the 138th fixture between the pair. Arsenal have won 70 of the previous meetings, West Brom 37 and they have drawn 30 times.

They last met on Boxing Day at the Emirates stadium and Arsenal managed to grab a 1-0 home win. It wasn’t the most exciting game to watch and West Brom looked to have snatched a point until the 86th minute when Olivier Giroud grabbed a winner for the Gunners.

West Brom had been playing really well but have started to struggle a little of late. They have managed 2 wins, 2 draws and 2 defeats in their last 6, unfortunately their 2 defeats have come in their last 2 fixtures a 2-0 home defeat to Palace and a 3-0 away loss to Everton.

Arsenal have been pretty inconsistent themselves lately; winning 3 and losing 3 of their last 6. To be fair to them their 3 defeats came at the hands of rivals Liverpool and two 5-1 defeats to Bayern Munich. Last time out they managed a comfortable 5-0 win over lower league Lincoln City.

The Baggies are currently in 8th in the Premier League, they are 7 points behind Everton in 7th so could use the 3 points to help close that gap.

Arsenal find themselves in unfamiliar territory outside of the top 4 in 5th position. they are 5 points behind Liverpool but have 2 games in hand so could really us a win to keep tabs on the top 4.

West Brom manager has said “The most important thing is that we get that mentality into the players and into everyone around the club that we want more points, that we want to push on”.

Under fire Arsene Wenger said “Success it’s not down to me to judge that. Our job is to do as well as we can until the end of the season. We want to play Champions League next season.”

West Brom will be without James Morrison who is struggling with an ankle problem. Matt Phillips is also set to miss his 4th game in a row with a hamstring problem.

Arsenal have fitness doubts over Oxlade Chamberlain and Kieran Gibbs and Santi Cazorla remains a long term absence.

Despite being away from home Arsenal are the odd on favourites for this and you can get 8/11 with a few firms including Coral. West Brom are best with Betfred @ 9/2 and the draw is 3/1 with Bet365 and Bet Victor.

I think Arsenal are too short of a price @ 8/11 considering the current problems so I will avoid this game in regards to the match betting but I will have a little bet both teams to score NO which is around 11/10 but you can get as big as 119/100 with Marathon Bet.
