Liverpool V Burnley

These 2 have met 115 times in the past and as expected Liverpool have the better record winning 51 times. They have drawn 27 times and Burnley have beaten Liverpool 37 times.

They met earlier this season at Turf Moor in a match that Liverpool absolutely dominated having around 80% possession, however as we all know it’s all about goals, not possession and Burnley managed to hit Liverpool on the break twice and scored goals through Sam Volkes and Andre Gray to nick the 3 points.

Liverpool have not been in the greatest form lately; winning 2, drawing 2 and losing 2 of their last 6 across all competitions. Those two wins did come against Spurs and Arsenal last time out. They appear to have a knack of beating the bigger sides but seem to struggle against the teams in the bottom half.

Burnley haven’t been in very good form themselves; winning 1, drawing 2 and losing 3 of their last 6 in all competitions. Last time out they suffered a 3-2 defeat at the hands of struggling Swansea at the Liberty stadium.

Liverpool currently sit in 4th position in the Premier League table and a win here could close the gap on the 2nd and 3rd to just a point.

Burnley currently sit 12th in the table and a win here could move them into the top 10.

Liverpool will be without captain Jordan Henderson for the 3rd game as he continues to struggle with a foot injury. Daniel Sturridge is out injured AGAIN. Lovren and Firminho also late doubts for the reds.

Joey Barton is fit again and Tom Heaton has recovered from his illness. They will be without injured Gudmunsson and Stephen Defour for this one.

Liverpool have not managed back to back wins all year and have a great chance to do that here.

Burnley have failed to win away from home all season 2 draws and 11 loses.

The bookies have Liverpool as big favourites as you would expect, you can back them @ 1/4 with almost every firm including Corals. The draw is generally 11/2 but you can get 28/5 with Marathon bet, Burnley are 14/1 with a few firms including Bet Victor.

Liverpool score lots of goals in the first 30 minutes of games so I will be backing Liverpool HT Liverpool FT which 4/5 with Corals and Paddy Power.
