Bayern Munich V Arsenal
Wednesday 15th February 2017
19.45 Kick Off on BT Sport 1 available with GibSat
Bayern came through Group D as runners up. They won 4 and lost 2 finishing on 12 points, 3 behind group winners Atletico Madrid. Bayern are having a good season domestically and are currently top of Bundesliga by 7 points, ahead of surprise package RB Leipzig.
Last time out Bayern managed a 2-0 away win over FC Ingolstadt 04. it took until the 90th minute for them to break the deadlock with a goal from Vidal, that was followed up 1 minute later by Robben to seal the 3 points.
Bayern are without injured Jerome Boeteng, Franck Ribery is also a doubt as he struggles for fitness. Late claims coming out of the camp also suggest midfield maestro Xabi Alonso has suffered a knee injury and might also miss out.
Arsenal won Group A quite comfortablly ahead of French giants PSG. Arsenal managed 4 wins and 2 draws to sail through unbeaten to the knock out stages.
Arsenal seem to be having a Arsenal like season, one week they look like giant killers the next they slip up against teams you expect them to beat easily. They currently sit 3rd in the Premier League table, 10 points behind leaders Chelsea.
Last time out The Gunners managed a 2-0 home win over Hull with a brace from Sanchez.
Gunners hitman Alexis Sanchez has 2 goals and 5 assists in 6 Champions League games this year.
Santi Cazorla is still out with injury and Aaron Ramsey is also unlikely to feature. Welbeck is fit again, him, Iwobi, Perez and Girould will all be pushing for a start along side Sanchez.
Bayern are @1/2 across the board to win the 1st leg. the draw is best priced with Sporting Bet @18/5 and Arsenal can be backed @13/2 with bet365.
I can not see past a Bayern win here but I think Arsenal can hold them to a draw in the 1st half so I will be having a small bet on draw HT Bayern FT which can be backed with Bet Fred @7/2.
