Bayer Leverkusen managed to progress from Group E. They managed to go through the group unbeaten winning twice and drawing 4 times. They finished 1 point behind group winners Monaco.

Bayer are really struggling in the league and find themselves down in 8th position a massive 20 points behind league leaders Bayern Munich.

Last time out in the league they did manage a good 3-1 away win over FC Augsberg. Bellarabi opened the scoring for Bayer and a brace from Chicharito sealed the win.

Leverkusen are without Hakan Calhanoglu through suspension. Jonathan Tah is also out through injury and Midfielder Lars Bender is doubtful.

Atletico Madrid came through Group D in fantastic fashion winning 5 and losing once. They finished on 15 points, 3 points ahead of Runners-up and tournament favourites Bayern Munich.

Atletico have not been as good in the La Liga this term compared to their last few seasons but they still sit in 4th place but they are 7 points behind local rival Real Madrid and Real do have 2 games in hand.

Atletico did manage a good result last time out away from home against struggling Sporting Gijon. They managed a 4-1 victory, Carrasco opened the scoring for Madrid, Alvarez managed an equalizer before the Gamiero show started, he came of the bench in the 62nd minute to score in the 80th, 82nd and 85th minutes to secure a 5 minute hat trick and all 3 points for Madrid.

Madrid do have some injury problems going into this tie. They are with out Juanfran, Tiagi, Diego Godin and Augusto Fernandez, Nicolas Gaitin is also a doubt.

Madrid are slight favourites for this despite being away from home, you can get @17/10 with most firms for them to take a lead home for the 2nd leg. The draw can be backed @43/20 with BetStars and Bayer can be backed @2/1 with all of the big firms.

I fancy the draw in this one as I think bot clubs would be happy with a draw so the @43/20 is were my money will be going.
