Watford have faced off with West Ham United on 72 occasions. West Ham come out on top winning 41 times to Watford’s 19 wins, they have drawn on just 12 occasions.

As a neutral I will be hoping this fixture can live up to the last time these met in the reverse fixture to this. Then at the London Watford scored a fantastic 4-2 victory, Michail Antonio got a first half brace to put West Ham 2-0 up. Then just before half time Watford turned turned it on with 2 quick goals from Odion Ighalo and Troy Deeney to make sure the teams went in level at half time. In the 2nd half Etienne Capoue put the Hornets 3-2 up and shortly after Jose Holebas sealed the 3 points.

Watford have been quite inconsistent of late winning 2, drawing 2 and losing 2 of their last 6 games. Last time out they suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Man Utd in the Premier League.

West Ham have improved since the turn of the year. Their last 6 fixtures have consisted of 3 wins, 1 draw and 2 loses. Last time out they managed a good 2-2 draw with West Brom in the Premier League.

Watford are down in 13th place in the league at the moment but a win here could see them move as high as 9th and above West Ham.

West Ham are currently in 10th place and a win or a draw could see them move up to 9th place.

Both managers took their respected press conference to reminisce about the reverse fixture earlier in the season. Watford boss Walter Mazzarri said we can not compare that game to this as it was a long time ago and West Ham are in much better form than then. West Ham boss Slavan Bilic echoed that statement by telling the press his Hammers side are a completely different one to that that lost 4-2 and they are in much better shape now.

Watford are without Nordin Amrabat (ankle) and Christian Kabasele (knee), Behrami, Cathcart and Prodl all face late fitness tests.

West Ham are looking a little better on the injury front, Andre Ayew and Aaron Cresswell are both back available for selection, the only real doubt is for Andy Carroll who will be assessed on game day following his groin strain.

Despite their inconsistent form Watford head into this as slight favourites @13/8 with Bet365 and Betfred. The draw is priced @47/20 with Betstars and West Ham are priced @2/1 with Betfred.

I will be having a little punt on the Hammers @2/1 I think if Andy Carroll plays they will win this one comfortably.
