Wolverhampton V Chelsea

These two have met 104 times in their past, Chelsea edge it with 40 wins to Wolves 38, they have drawn on 26 occasions. Of their last 10 meetings Chelsea have won 9 and Wolves just the 1. Last time they met was back in 2002 in the League Cup when Chelsea won 6-0.

Wolves have struggled recently, they have won 2 and lost 4 of their last 6 but they are on a 3 game losing streak, last time out they lost at home 1-0 to relegation threatened Wigan.

Chelsea on the other hand have been in very good form winning 4 and drawing 2 of their last 6 games. They did struggle somewhat last time out against Burnley though only managing a 1-1.

Wolves are down in 18th in the Championship and only 6 points above the relegation zone.

Chelsea are the highest placed team in the English leagues and are 8 points clear in the Premier League.

Wolves have won this trophy 4 times in their history, the last time though was way back in 1960. Chelsea have won this a massive 7 times in the past, last time was in 2012 when they beat Liverpool 2-1.

The Wolves boss Paul Lambert admitted his side need to punch above their weight if they are to get anything out off the game.

The Chelsea boss has spent most of the build up to this match being asked about Diego Costa’s future as speculation about his contract talks not going well have surfaced. Conte said he is confident Costa will stay at the club but they need to be concerned about the present not the future and Wolves is the present.

Chelsea are priced @4/11 with a few of the big firms. The draw can be backed @9/2 with a few of the firms and Wolves are best with Bet Victor @19/2.

I will be adding Chelsea to my Burnley and Middlesbrough selections to complete my treble.
