Manchester City F.C V Tottenham Hotspurs F.C

The late game is easily the game of the week. Man City have met Tottenham a massive 152 times and Spurs come out just on top winning 60 times, City have won 58 and they have drawn 34 times.

Spurs do have a good recent record winning both of last seasons fixtures and also this seasons reverse fixture which they won 2-0 with an own goal from Aleksandar Kolarov and a Dele Alli goal sealed the win.

Man City’s last 3 league fixtures included a 2-1 win against Burnley but have lost to both clubs from Merseyside, 1-0 to Liverpool and then last time out a huge 4-0 defeat to a rampant Everton. They currently find themselves outside of the top 4 and a massive 10 points behind the leaders Chelsea.

Following their defeat to Everton manager Pep Guardiola admitted it is unlikely they can win the league now and they will try to win every game and hopefully finish as high up as possible.

Fernandinho is still out suspended and Gundogan is still a long term injury. Fernando is also a doubt following a knock this week. New signing Gabrial Jesus is available for selection and Man City may need to pray to Jesus to get a result against an inform Spurs side.

Tottenham have won their last 7 games in all competitions and find themselves up in 2nd place in the league table. Last time out they thrashed West Brom 4-0 and the game before that they beat league leaders Chelsea 2-0. They will go into this game full of confidence especially given City’s recent hiccups.

Spurs Manager Mauricio Pochettino has played down the significance of this “title clash” and has backed Pep Guardiola to be a success at Manchester City.

Spurs are without Jan Vertonghen who has an Ankle problem and is expected to be out for up to 6 weeks, Lamela is also still out with a hip injury.

I think this one could go either way, Man City have fantastic players but don’t seem to be performing and Spurs are in arguably the best run of form.

If I was pushed to have a bet on this one my money would be on the draw @5/2 with most of the firms. You can back Man City @23/20 with a few of the firms and Spurs can be backed @27/10 with BetVictor.

I will keep my money in my pocket on this one and just enjoy the spectacle.
