Liverpool F.C V Swansea City F.C

Liverpool have met Swansea 40 times in their history with Liverpool winning 22, Swansea winning 10 and the two teams have fought out 8 draws.

The reverse fixture earlier in the season saw Liverpool come from behind to take all 3 points back home. on the 8th minute Leroy Fer put the home side in front, Roberto Firminho equalised in the 54th minute and James Milner sealed the 3 points from the penalty spot in the 84th minute.

Liverpool managed their first win of 2017 on Wednesday evening against League 2 side Plymouth Argyle in their F.A Cup 3rd round replay. They also had a good result last time out at Old Trafford in a 1-1 with rivals Utd. Liverpool went a goal up through another James Milner penalty following a Pogba hand ball in the box. They conceded late to a Zlatan goal and will be disappointed they didn’t take all 3 points.

Liverpool have no new injury concerns and their “Magician” Philippe Coutinho continues to gain match fitness and completed 65 minutes last time out, Sadio Mane is still away with Cameroon at the African Cup of Nations and Joel Matip is still a doubt due to his ongoing dispute over the African Cup of Nations, but I believe FIFA have cleared him to play.

Swansea have lost 6 of their last 7 games in all competitions including last time out when they lost 4-0 at home to Arsenal. Their only victory in that time was on 3rd January away at struggling Crystal Palace and are plum bottom of the table.

The Swans new signing Luciano Narsingh is unlikely to play as the winger has a slight calf strain. Other new recruits Martin Olsson and Tom Carroll could both have some involvement.

After conceding 4 at home to Arsenal that defense has got to be worried about traveling to Anfield to face the leagues top scorers. This one looks like a comfortable easy win for the reds despite missing their top scorer. Liverpool are back-able @1/4 with Stan James to win the match. The draw is @6/1 with a few of the big firms and if you fancy a big outsider Swansea are @14/1.

Liverpool to win and over 2.5 goals in the game is my bet @6/10 with Coral and BoyleSport.
